What is the Orion induction heater?

The Orion is the most advanced induction heater to hit the market, recently released by Dynatec - a Dynavap company. Dynatec also makes the Apollo 2 and Rover induction heaters.

Induction heaters are the hottest technology to enter the vaporizer space in the last few years. If you own a Dynavap, chances are you’ve been wanting to find the best induction heater to use with your Vapcap.

With an integrated battery, intelligent activation, and a small profile, the Dynatec Orion can travel with you anywhere to heat up your Vapcap.

Why use an Induction Heater?

Induction heater vs torch

Using an induction heater is faster, and more simple than using a torch. You can pass it off to your friend and they can vape within seconds. A torch will allow for finer control of the temperature, but the ease of use with an induction heater cannot be beat.

How to use your new Orion heater

How to use Orion Induction Heater

Dynatec truly has figured something special out. There is no need to press down on the vaporizer while heating. The Intelligent Activation technology will automatically heat the vape when it is inserted. You just plop it into the heater and let it do all of the work.

To turn the Orion on just click the single button on the device 3 times in a row. The Dynavap Cap logo on top will turn green to show the device is on. Insert the Vapcap and the logo will turn orange and blink. You’ll know the Vapcap is heated when it clicks! When you hear the click, it's time to use your vape! As soon as you are done using it, place it on the magnet and wait for the cooldown click. It’s then ready to be reheated.

There is an automatic shut off timer, and when it is activated the logo will turn red and the heater will shut off. This helps prevent the Vapcap from permanently breaking, but you may combust if you heat the Vapcap too far past the click.

Getting the perfect draw with your Orion

Each and every Vapcap is slightly different. As they age, the timing with the click will change. We recommend stopping at the click, but for a denser vapor just go 1-2 seconds past the click on most Vapcaps. If you go too far after the click, you will combust.

Always make sure to let the Dyna vap click again before reheating. Waiting for the cool down clicks ensures you won’t immediately combust.

We recommend cleaning out your Vap Cap in between sessions. This reduces staining of the oven, and will make deep cleanings easier too!

Lighting Configurations

Orion Lights

A green light means the device is on, and ready to be activated! If the device has a blue logo instead of green, this means it is low on battery. We notice that it tends to happen with about 30% battery left. We recommend charging the device if you can reach a USB-C charger.

If the logo is red, this means you have reached the auto shut off on the Orion heater. Simply remove the Vapcap from the heater in order to restore normal function.

The battery is dead if the Dyna tec logo does not light up at all. Simply charge the device using the USB-C charger and you should be good to use it in a couple minutes! We always recommend doing a full charge unless you’re going to put it into storage. If you are going to store it, store it with about 80% battery life left.

What makes an awesome induction heater?

Induction heaters come in varying sizes and with many different specs. Some important things to remember are battery life, portability, and safety features.

We love to see too many safety features. Heaters like the Dynatec series are FCC, and CE certified. The Orion also features an auto shut off, so if you fall asleep or don’t hear the click you will not continue to heat the Vapcap past 10 seconds. This is extremely important -- you don’t want to burn anything down!

We prefer extremely portable heaters; these vapes are supposed to be portable after all. The Orion will fit in most guy’s pockets, and purses too. Sorry gals, most vapes and accessories won’t fit in the pockets of your skinny jeans.

Battery life allows you to have freedom from a charger. With the Orion hitting 50+ clicks per charge we believe that it will last a full day of on the go usage for all but the heaviest users.
